Christian Iddon, fresh from competing in the first World Championship last weekend, is preparing for battle in the sixth round of the British ACU Supermoto Championships. Iddon gained some very inspiring results at Spa in Belgium, and took his 450 Husqvarna to thirteenth and sixth in the 450 races.

Looking strong in fourth place in the Super Final, Iddon was keen to gain a podium place. However, the third placed runner missed a gear and crashed in the path of the young 19-year-old. After remounting he had lost a number of places but still managed to fight back to eighteenth and gained some championship points.

Commenting, Iddon said, “It was a mixed start to my World Championship campaign but I’m still happy with the results that I managed to gain over there. The level of competition is extremely high and my sixth place in the second race was a big encouragement for me. I was unlucky to get tied up in the incident in the Super Final as I was running up there with the front runners. I’m looking forward to gaining some strong results throughout the season.”

Both Iddon and Dave McKee will be competing in the British Championship as Jay Smith and Mike Wright rest out due to injury. Warren Steele is finally on the mend and had his fixator removed from his leg a couple of weeks ago, and is now making steady progress to regain his strength back.

Eighty riders will head to Cumbria this weekend to Rowrah, and for the first time will run in the stadium under the ACU rules. This fantastic venue, situated in its own natural amphitheatre bowl, has seen over £300,000 worth of private investment over recent years, and now boasts a long tarmac extension. A purpose built dirt section has also been constructed to provide a spectacular jump to entertain the crowds.
