Reynolds misses next two rounds, Haydon steps in

It has come as no surprise that John Reynolds will miss the next two rounds of the British Superbike series, due to his leg injuries sustained in a pre-season testing session.

The rider who will be taking his place is none other than James Haydon, who stood down from the Airwaves Ducati team last week so Gregorio Lavilla could continue his good run of form.

James stood down after talks with the team manager, and was paid his full year’s wages, and will now get to ride what he has always wanted to - the Suzuki GSX-R1000 of the Rizla team. He will take part in the next two rounds of the series in place of John.

John has suffered badly with his right leg, and muscle loss is not helping him to get back to strength. John said, “I will be back as soon as I can - hopefully for Croft in early June - and I would like to thank my team and my fans for all their support. I will be at the races and will give James and Scott whatever advice I can to help them score some good results.”

James said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for me. Rizla Suzuki is a team I have always wanted to join. My heart goes out to John, as I know what he is going through. No rider wants to inherit a ride because another competitor is injured. I have just come back from injury to my left hand, and I will build up slowly at Oulton Park, and once I am comfortable I see no reason why we shouldn’t be running at the front.”
