TABOO Motorsport’s Michael Hill had a very productive two day test at the Bennetts British Superbikes pre-season test as Snetterton. On board his RS125 Honda, Hill improved his lap time by a second and a half, and was pleased with his personal progress. “I only run the bike in a few days ago at Croft,” said Hill, “so the more track time the better really. It’s good that we have had three sessions each day, as it gave us plenty of time to work on the bike and make improvements ahead of the start of the season.”

The cold weather conditions limited the pace; Hill’s lap time for the first session was 1min 21.283, dropping to 1min 19.049secs in the final outing. The lap times that Hill was setting kept him in the top ten on the time sheets all weekend. His race pace last year at Snetterton was 1min 17.583secs, so there is definitely more to come from the dedicated rider. The fastest 125 rider of the weekend was Alex Lowes from Double Vision racing, lapping in 1min 16.674secs.

“I’ve worked really hard all through the off season to pull my own team together,” explained Hill. “Everything worked well at Snetterton, and I’m very excited about the season ahead. I think TABOO Motorsport have a good set up, both with the bike and the team personnel.”

Looking ahead to next weekend, Hill said, “My aim for Brands is to qualify in the top twenty, and I’ve set myself a personal target of finishing in the points at each race. There are thirteen rounds so I want at least thirteen points!”

The opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike and the GP125 British Championship is 24th-26th March, at Brands Hatch in Kent.
