Cyling team with Contador on hold - Alonso

Fernando Alonso has temporarily put to rest his plans to runa professional cycling team.

The Spaniard, who is a cycling enthusiast, had last year planned to establish a team for tour de France, featuring prominent rider Alberto Contador.

Contador and Alonso are good friends, but the ace Ferrrari driver is now going slow on his plans.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, he said, “Last year I was very close to creating a team with Contador."

“Contador has now signed for another team. For the future, who knows — never say never.”

Alonso had this year taken part in the 16th stage of the famous Giro d'Italia grand tour, just days before the Turkish GP.
