The sporting world is divided on opinion after Ferrari ordering Massa to give up his lead position for Alonso to win the German GP.

The sporting world is divided on opinion after Ferrari ordering Massa to  give up his lead position for Alonso to win.

Though many feels fans have been robbed of a good fight for win, a few others believe teams should have a free hand in this matter, after all it's a team game.

"I must confess I would agree with anyone who thinks that," said the F1 chief executive.

Ferrari have been fined $ 100,000 by the stewards at Hockenheim and the matter referred to World Motor Sport Council.

However, Ecclestone is not sure whether the WMSC will scrap the team order ban.

"I don't know, we'll have to see," said the Briton. "It's something that needs to be discussed."

Meanwhile Ferrari President, Luca di Montezemolo said that team orders aren't new and have been a norm from the 30s and 40s, and Ecclestone agreed that it is a part of the practice.

"I believe what people do when they are inside the team and how they run their team is up to them. Of course, if a team does something that's dangerous then they're going to be in trouble. Otherwise, get on with it," he said.
