Marlboro is all set to stay as Ferrari's title sponsor at least until 2014, according to reports yesterday.
Motorsport-Total.com, a german language sports website, reported that it learned about the extentsion of contract at the team's WROOOM media event in the Italian Dolomites.
Marlboro has been part of Ferrari even after the sport's total ban on tobacco advertising quite a few years back.
The new "barcode" logo and livery of the team for 2010 created a controversy, leading to the launch of a fresh logo for this year, which will be incorporated into the design of the 2011 car’s livery.
The report also quotes a spokesman for Philip Morris International as saying, “We see no obstacles to an extension.”
An official announcement of the contract extension is expected to be made on January 28, when Ferrari would be launching it's 2011 challenger for the upcoming season.
