Ferrari close to signing Felipe for 3 years

The latest news coming out of Ferrari is that Felipe Massa would be getting a contract extension for further three years.

There were strong rumours going around last week of Ferrari signing Robert Kubica, currently driving for Renault, who is believed to have only a one year’s contract with them.  

However, Ferrari team boss, Stefano Domenicali has added a new twist in to all this, while speaking to the German magazine Sport Bild, that Ferrari wants “to build with Felipe in to the future”.  

In Felipe’s home town, in Brazil, local newspaper O Globo has also reported that Felipe is close to renewing his contract for further three seasons.  

Felipe is currently leading the championship points table after three races from his teammate, while Kubica who is 7th in points, has performed strongly for the Renault team this year.  

Fernando Alonso, whose contract runs up to 2012, is currently second in the championship points.
