Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali expressed concern on the lack of confirmation of a tyre supplier for next season.

"Of course it is a point of concern for the future of F1 – there is no doubt about that," he complained. 

"As far as I can say, as you know Michelin has made a proposal that is under evaluation to make sure that it is the best proposal from the technical point of view and the commercial point of view. 

He was however positive that the situation would be clearer in the coming weeks, "On the other hand I know that there is a possible discussion to have another tyre competitor who can be ready to come for next year, and I think we will know something more, I would say 100 percent, by Barcelona. So by Barcelona the situation of tyres should be almost clear if not defined." 

There have been reports of bringing in non-branded tyre suppliers in case a deal is not finalised with Michelin. 

While, Michelin on the other hand had demanded a change in rules, Martin Brundle, in his Sunday Times colum, a few days back had said Bernie Ecclestone prefers “a non-branded and much cheaper option” than FOTA’s Michelin deal, with Cooper Avon's name being considered. 

It is also rumoured that Cooper Avon is potentially looking to take former Bridgestone employees on board in order to help them achieve an 'F1 level' of quality to their tyres.
