Taking a break from his preparation for this weekend's Turkish GP, Alonso is all set to enjoy the thrill of cycling. He is confirmed to take part in the 16th stage of the famous Giro d'Italia grand tour on Tuesday.
Alonso has been invited to enjoy the 12.9 km mountain individual time trial between San Vigilio di Marebbe and Plan de Corones.
The ace Ferrari F1 driver had confirmed last year on his keen interest in cyling, and his plans to set up a professional cycling team. He had said he might be teaming up with his friend and Spanish rider Alberto Contador on the same.
The organisers of the grand tour meanwhile have said that 'Alonso will enjoy the Giro on the crucial final moments of the stage."
On F1 front, the Ferrari team is gearing up for the upcoming GP in Turkey this weekend by re-introducing the F-duct solution to increase the car's straight line speed.
