No Ferrari!

Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing Team Boss, insist that his Champion Driver Sebastian Vettel is free to express is feelings, but is not leaving Red Bull.

Vettel have been quite vocal on his desire to drive for the Italian team, however, Horner, speaking to Reuters said, “I think any driver at some stage in his career

would like to drive for the red team and we don’t hold that against him."

"But, for the foreseeable future we see him as a part of Red Bull, he’s grown up within the Red Bull family and hopefully for many years to come. Just before he

retires he can go to Ferrari, then that could be another 10 years away. Or in Michael (Schumacher)’s case 20 years away.”

With a struggling Michael Schumacher at Mercedes, we wonder whether Ferrari would wait that long.

Horner also pointed out, “The Italians get very excited when world champions talk about Ferrari, so maybe he’s been dreaming about Ferrari but I think that’s about

all. One of the things that we encourage is a freedom of expression and so on. Sebastian is his own person and he’s got his own opinions.”

“For the foreseeable future, and most importantly for the immediate future, he is very much committed to Red Bull and likewise Red Bull committed to him,” he said.

Horner insisted that Vettel's success is directly related to the environment and support provided to him by the Red Bull Team.

“He’s an important part of what we do and an important part of how the team moves forward but that is more than a piece of paper or a contract. That comes down to

relationships, down to trust, down to feeling comfortable in an environment. He’s grown up within the Red Bull family and all the success he has achieved within his

motorsport career has come within that environment," he continued.

“It’s down to us to ensure that we are giving him a quick car and it’s down to him to ensure that he’s performing, and what driver in the pitlane wouldn’t want to

drive a Red Bull at the moment?” enquired Horner.

We now wait for what would be reaction from Maranello on this statement from Horner, though with Fernando Alonso leading the team, we believe they would surely wait for a year or two before making an all out effort for Sebastian Vettel.

who wants vettel, when we have the best driver on grid

let him fine tune his driving skills at red bull before he joins a pro team like ferrari.

@ PHP,

LOL, 110% Right! He will drive for Ferrari in time. He is to young and green for Ferrari at this time. The Race Car will most of the time dictate victories. Vettel should have won much sooner last year but he made far to many errors throughout the 2010 season to claim an early Driver's Title. Alonso also made far to many errors the first part of the 2010 season himself and that cost him dearly.

All these Vettel to Ferrari stuff is well known but lately I believe it's designed to unsettle current Ferrari drivers. That's all.

Agreed nick.

Frank nando made more errors last season (and lets not even go into MS territory) than vettel did so i cant really see your logic there mate.

@ Hall,

My point is that Alonso is the Number One Driver at Ferrari and Massa will have a good chance to do well if the tables turn for a major reason. I think all the Vettel stuff is true but with a grain of salt. Vettel is very young and Alonso will retire prior to Vettel moving to Ferrari!

though ifs and buts don't count, i would say the title was vettel's to lose last year, and "if" ferrari hadn't made a strategic error, alonso would have been 3xwdc.

alonso's mistakes and that of vettel's were quite under different situation, as alonso didn't buckle under pressure but a few errors when he tried to overdrive the f10, while vettel needn't overdrive the red bull car, as it was already fast, and whenever he was not in front the kid was all over the place, crashing in to others.

he has talent no doubt, but i would give him a year or two to more to mature as a great driver.

if the ferrari and mclaren are up to speed with the red bull, it would be great to see who is better mentally, alonso, lewis or vettel?
