Today team SAUBER PETRONAS concluded their three-day test at the Silverstone Circuit. Giancarlo Fisichella took over driving duties for the day and completed 108 laps thanks to the good weather conditions.
His best time of 1:18.382 in chassis C23-05 is very competitive with recent tests from several top teams.
Race engineer, Mike Krack discussed the day's work. "In the morning we have done some set-up work for the next races. Later we assessed a new front wing and worked with Bridgestone on the tyre construction for the races in Montreal and Indianapolis. Overall I can say that thanks to good weather and track conditions all three days through we were able to run a good test and could complete the whole programme of the week."
The Sauber C23 has been remarkably reliable for this week's test. The team's reliability and addition of new parts should add to the momentum gained in the last two races to provide them a chance to fight for points in Monaco.
The team's next test session will be 1 to 4 June before heading to North America for two back-to-back races.
