Former Test Driver Neel Jani to Race in GP2

Team SAUBER PETRONAS released Red Bull backed driver Neel Jani from his contract last December. It was believed at the time that the young Swiss driver would become the Friday tester for Red Bull Racing but that has not materialized. Instead, Jani will race for the new Racing Engineering team in the GP2 series. There he will partner Borja Garcia, the Spanish F3 champion. Should he later move up to Friday tester at Red Bull Racing, he would have to give up his race seat in the GP2 series. This series replaces International F3000 and will be the last rung on the ladder to F1 for many drivers.
