Peter Sauber has given more insight into his relationship with Jacques Villeneuve but he has still stopped short of answering the burning question of whether Villeneuve will stay at team SAUBER PETRONAS for the duration of the season. "We are trying to come together as much as possible given our constraints," the Swiss team boss told Motorsport Aktuell. Sauber explained that he and Villeneuve held different philosophies over the direction the team should take.

Sauber did not sound encouraging over Villeneuve's recent test either. "It was probably not pleasant (to be removed from the test) for Villeneuve. And he does need more miles -- but look at (Alex) Wurz in Bahrain. He had never sat in the new McLaren, yet he was quickest."

Although Sauber did not confirm Villeneuve would remain at the team, he at least offered some encouragement that the Canadian is getting along with his colleagues. "He is a driver who polarises, very much so, but there is no problem on the human side."

Villeneuve is confirmed for this weekend's San Marino Grand Prix, but fans of the Villeneuve and the team are growing impatient for some definitive answers as to what will happen beyond that point. Perhaps it's time for Peter to stop beating around the bush and tell us what's really happening?
