A frustrating San Marino Grand Prix saw Felipe Massa collide twice with David Coulthard and score no points for his 12th place finish. Massa has now put it behind him and turned his attention towards the future. "I am really looking forward to Barcelona!" exclaimed Massa. "I had a good test there recently, albeit not necessarily in terms of pure lap time, and that was without the new aero package that gave us such a significant step forward at Imola."

Massa was quick all weekend until an engine change demoted him ten spots down the starting grid.

"We need further to improve on this type of circuit, which has historically not always suited us as well as, say, Imola and Bahrain," explained the Brazilian. "We need more work to improve the car in fast corners, but the new aero package has really helped so I am encouraged."

Massa has raced here twice before and brought the car home both times. His debut effort in 2002 rewarded him with 5th place while 2004 saw him finish just outside of the points in 9th.

"I like the circuit," he said. "The times can be funny because it is always faster in the morning. The wide variety of corners means you have to compromise on car set-up but it’s fun to drive there. If your car goes well there, generally it will go well anywhere."

SAUBER have continued to adapt their C24 to the Michelin tyres this season and will hope for a better match than they experienced in their last test at this track.
