An infuriated Peter Sauber has called both Jacques Villeneuve and Felipe Massa to an emergency meeting at Hinwil, following a clash at Monaco that cost the team valuable points. Jacques Villeneuve made an attempt to pass Felipe Massa at turn one, but braked too late and ended up in the tyre wall. Massa managed to avoid the Canadian, but had to take to the escape road, costing valuable time. Both drivers recovered to finish the race, but out of the points.

"We are not being spoiled by success and we are having to work very hard to move the team forward and score points," Peter Sauber told the Autosport website. "Those points would have been extremely important for us to close the gap to our direct competitor, Red Bull.

"I have told both drivers that I don't want to discuss this issue with them in the paddock, because there are too many emotions at the surface at the moment. We will meet in Hinwil this week to discuss the situation.

"They don't normally come to the factory after the races, but this was a very serious situation and we have to speak together.

"One point can make a difference in terms of position and that also has a cut in money. The amount is relatively small compared to the overall budget, but there is a difference."

Sauber are expecting to take in the region of $15 million in prize and TV money this year, accounting for some 10% of their budget.
