Peter Sauber has never been one to air his team's 'dirty laundry' in public and has chosen to remain tight-lipped on the outcome of the emergency meeting he called for his drivers this week. Both Villeneuve and Massa were running in the points in last Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix until Villeneuve attempted a pass on Massa going into Ste Devote. The pass failed as Villeneuve locked up his tyres and careened head-first into the tyre barrier. Massa swerved down the escape road to avoid his teammate but lost a lot of ground. Massa ended up 9th with Villeneuve further back in 11th by race's end costing the team valuable championship points.

Emotions were running high in the SAUBER garage after the race Peter Sauber insisted they hold off discussing matters until tempers could cool and they could retreat to the privacy of their Hinwil base. The outcome of this private meeting most likely will never be known. "It's a family affair," a team spokesperson told Reuters, "and (will) be discussed within the family."

The SAUBER team will have to put the matter to rest as they now head to the Nurburgring for the European Grand Prix this weekend in search of a better result.
