Europe: Massa Looks Forward to a Technical Track

Felipe Massa will hope for better tyres and another shot at points in this weekend's European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Massa was forced to veer into an escape road during last weekend's Monaco GP when teammate Jacques Villeneuve attempted a pass at Ste Devote. Massa quickly forgave his teammate and instead blamed his tyres which had caused him to lose ground after running in a solid points-scoring position. He has now put the incident behind him as the team heads to the Nurburgring where he has scored 6th and 9th in his prior races.

"It’s quite a nice track with some exciting corners. Not my favourite, but okay to drive," said Massa. "I had a good race there in 2002, finishing sixth. The first corner has made things better as far as overtaking is concerned, and Turn 2 is also a possibility if a guy gets Turn 1 wrong, but really the corners in the first part are pretty slow. The second part has medium and high-speed corners interrupted by the chicane, but you can really attack that. It’s a very technical track, and I hope we can do well there."
