Officials from the USF2000 National Championship presented by Cooper Tire have announced the schedule for it's inaugural season. The series, which is the new bottom rung on the IRL's developmental ladder, will hold twelve events, ten of which will be road course races held over five "double-header" weekends.
The series will kick off it's season with races on March 27 & 28, as part of the IndyCar/Indy Lights season opener weekend at St. Petersburg, FL. Then there will be a two month gap until they race again, a night event at the .686 mile oval at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Brownsburg IN (just a stone's throw from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway) on May 29, the evening before the Indianapolis 500. On June 19 they will be racing at the 7/8 mile Iowa Speedway, as part of the annual IndyCar weekend there.
For the next events, the USF2000 drivers will be supporting Formula Atlantic and Star Mazda series weekends, with double-headers scheduled for June 26 & 27 at New Jersey Motorsports Park (Millville, NJ) and July 31 & August 1 at Autobahn Country Club (Joliet IL).
They will wrap up their season running support races for the American Le Mans Series, with two more double-headers; August 21 & 22 at Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) and Road Atlanta (Braselton GA).
