Lola Presents Their Proposed 'Duel' Chassis

Former CART chassis constructor Lola has presented their ideas for a possible 2012 spec IndyCar contender to the IRL. The British company has proposed a car that could be set up in either of two different body styles, depending on the desires of each team.

A press statement from Lola explains; "This concept will provide two ready to race aero performance balanced Indycars that could compete even safer side by side and very close behind one another on all circuits. This would provide a unique focus for drivers, teams and fans alike without technical compromise or advantage and in addition would accommodate a dual engine supply situation if required."

While no pictures of this car is currently available, the press statement went on to say that the chassis is not especially 'radical' in design, but that it would satisfy all of the IRL's previously stated requirements for the 2012 spec changes.

Lola has a long and storied history on the American racing scene, including three Indy 500 victories and success in Can Am and sports cars.

I will post pictures of Lola's submission to the IRL just as soon as they become available.
