In each of the IndyCar Series' five previous visits to Watkins Glen, a Team Penske car has started the race from the Pole. In Saturday's qualifying for the sixth edition of the event, the squad put an exclaimation point on their efforts to keep the streak alive by locking up the first THREE grid spots.

It is also Team Penske's eighth consecutive Pole effort this season, proving yet again that - on Saturdays, at least - they are the team to beat. Once again it was 'newcommer' Will Power who lead the way, grabbing his fifth Pole of the year with a lap of 1:29.3164 on the historic eleven turn, 3.4 mile road course in upstate New York.

“It’s awesome to have the Verizon car on pole again,” said Power, who dominated the season-opening stretch of four road/street races. “We’re certainly racking them up, but we’ve got to get the race win. The way the points are structured (there is a 10-point margin between first and second) you have to get that win."

Helio Castroneves will start alongside Power on the front row, and Ryan Briscoe will start just behind him in Row Two. The other drivers who made it into the Firestone Fast Six (the final round of knock-out qualifying) were Dario Franchitti (fourth), rookie Takuma Sato (fifth) and Justin Wilson (sixth), last year's winner of this race.

The Camping World Grand Prix At The Glen will begin on Sunday at 3:30pm ET/8;30pm GMT.

James Hinchcliffe won the pole for the Firestone Indy Lights Series support race, which will begin at 1pm ET/6pm GMT and can be seen via live video streaming at www.indycar.com.
