Tracy To Run Five Races With (???)-Dragon Racing

The last that we had heard about deFerran-Dragon Racing, they were closing up shop after Tony Kanaan couldn't find enough funding to run the full 2011 IndyCar schedule. Now it looks like team co-owner Jay Penske (son of Roger Penske) has put togeather a deal to run a limited schedule yet this year, with Paul Tracy in the driver's seat.

As of right now, the plan is to compete at Long Beach, Texas, Toronto, Edmonton and Sonoma: More events could be added if funding is secured. "We've been trying to put this deal together with Jay from soon after he and Gil de Ferran split," Tracy wrote on his blog on RACER.com "Jay flew to Vegas to meet me, and said “OK, let's go to work on this.”

Tracy already has a ride lined up for this May at Indy, with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing.

Many AOWR fans will no doubt be looking forward to the four road/street events, where they will be watching for a 'renewal' of the old CCWS Tracy/Bourdais rivalry.
